Europe Steps Up Monitoring of US CCPs

Europe is strengthening compliance monitoring of US central counterparties (CCPs) operating in the European Union under a new agreement with US derivatives regulator the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

The deal also marks the start of a relationship between the CFTC and Europe’s CCP Supervisory Committee, the regulators said in a statement late on Thursday.
